Summer 2025: high connectivity between Scandinavia and Spain

Spain consolidates its position as a reference destination for MICE events thanks to a network of direct flights that improves connectivity

Direct air routes between Scandinavian cities and Spanish destinations have strengthened significantly in recent years, surpassing even pre-pandemic figures, and offering event organisers the guarantee of punctuality, comfort and high frequency connections.

The consolidation of direct connections to Spain

For summer 2025, 383 direct weekly flights have been scheduled from Scandinavian cities to Spain, with 140 from Copenhagen, 31 from Gothenburg, 94 from Oslo, and 118 from Stockholm. Since 2021, the increase in connections has been steady and significant, which remains on a very favorable trajectory and is gradually recovering to pre-pandemic frequencies.

Compared to summer 2024, the overall number of flights remains stable, highlighting the robust network of direct connections offered from these Scandinavian cities to Spain. In addition, the route changes are notable and also the new key connections to strategic destinations such as Bilbao, Seville, and Valencia, further reinforcing the air connectivity between both regions.

New routes and opportunities for the MICE sector

For this summer, we highlight new direct connections that boost the supply of flights between Scandinavia and key Spanish cities for the MICE sector:

  • Bilbao: with 8 weekly flights operated by SAS and Norwegian, Bilbao is positioned as an epicenter of culture, innovation and gastronomy. Its proximity to destinations such as San Sebastian and the presence of a strong local dmc guarantee an exceptional experience for corporate events.
  • Seville: the new route to Seville, with 3 weekly flights from Copenhagen and Stockholm, highlights the essence and tradition of Andalusia. Its historic palaces and the unique atmosphere of its streets make the city the perfect setting for events with a cultural and emotional touch.
  • Valencia: with 7 weekly flights from cities such as Copenhagen and Oslo, Valencia presents itself as the meeting point where modernity and the Mediterranean merge. The city, renowned for its City of Arts and Sciences and its beaches, offers first-class infrastructure for meetings and product launches.
Why choose Spain as an ideal destination for your events?

The high frequency of direct flights, the wide connectivity and the diversification of routes are decisive factors that facilitate the logistics of international events and meetings. The quality of in-flight services, the modernization of fleets and the Spanish airport infrastructure combine to offer a hassle-free travel experience with a strong sustainability component.

For Scandinavian event organisers, this means:

  • Greater flexibility and scheduling options: with the hight number of weekly flights, it is really easy to coordinate schedules and avoid delays.
  • Reduced connection times: direct routes optimize the mobility of delegations and participants, allowing maximum use of time at the destination.
  • Opportunities for unique experiences: cities such as Barcelona, Málaga y Alicante offer not only excellent connectivity, but also a cultural and gastronomic environment that enriches any event.

With these improvements and new connections, Spain reaffirms itself as the ideal destination for Scandinavian organisers to organise high-level events, fusing tradition, innovation and an unbeatable quality of life. Spain is now easier to reach then ever from the Nordics!
